Meeting for Worship
First Day (Sunday) Morning at 10:00 am
Moorestown Meetinghouse, Main & Chester
Mt Laurel Meetinghouse, Hainesport & Moorestown Roads
Child Care provided at Moorestown.
The Religious Education Committee will present the Christmas Pageant in the Meeting House at the rise of meeting for your enjoyment and inspiration. Every year children and young people choose different roles, but the sequence of events is always the same: the birth of Jesus. Parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles watch with delight, as the costumed characters appear on the facing benches, sometimes on cue.
Christmas Potluck to Follow the Pageant December 17. 2017
Once again, this year the Pastoral Care Committee is providing a time for all ages to celebrate the joys of Christmas in the MFS Dining Hall t with food and fellowship. This special event occurs immediately following the Christmas Pageant on Dec. 17 at about noon. Please bring your dish (salad, veggie, starch, or desert for eight) to the Dining Room at the rise of Meeting and before the Pageant. What a joy this is for children and adults alike!
Quaker Parenting Classes at Moorestown Meetinghouse
The Religious Education Committee of Moorestown Meeting is offering classes during January 2018 for parents or caregivers seeking to raise their children according to their faith and values or Quaker beliefs and testimonies. The classes will be in the library of the Meeting House from 9-10 Sundays: 7,14, 21, & 28 with child care provided. Some concepts included will be:
- Envisioning the qualities parents hope their child will possess
- Integrating the Quaker faith and testimonies into parenting
- Considering how the developmental levels of children effect the decisions parents make
- Strategies for deciding how to respond to situations which test our faith or values
Each session will include worship or meditation, thoughtful consideration of ideas, brainstorming, laughter, and perhaps an epiphany or two.
Facilitators, Marty Smith and Emma Richter, have taught at Moorestown Friends School for many years and are members of Moorestown Meeting, where they are active in the First-day School. They each have two grown children; Marty has one grandchild. They are part of the Quaker Parenting Initiative, which offers Quaker Parenting workshops throughout the Delaware Valley.
If you would like to attend and will be needing child care, please e-mail Marty at mgsmithnj1@gmail or 609-740-9182
